We’re sure that you’ve heard of Valgardena – the vally in the heart of the dolomite mountains. Documentary mentioned about thousand years ago (presented as the latin “forestum ad gredine” to the Archbishop of Freising), its almost threehundred years that its population of roman origin, which preserved the ancient and still spoken language the ladin, creates and carves wooden figures.
This handycraft made the valley well-known around the globe.

in Ortisei, the main town of the valley, you find the enterprise Salcher. From a specialised woodfigure painting workshop, Werner and Petra Salcher developed a small but active company.

Our high quality woodcarvings are designed toghether with selected artists. Remarkable is the unique painting of our sculptures, granted by the masterpainter skills of the founder, they talk already of the Salcher painting style.

The production is made exclusively in our workshop and the quality of each piece is verified before shipment.

On request we manufacture unique items.
